On Thursday, April 4, 2019 at approximately 12:30 PM Carroll County Sheriff’s Office responded along with Carroll County Fire Rescue in reference to multiple structures and items on fire at 2378 Mandeville Road. Investigators on scene were able to identify two suspects by way of surveillance cameras located at the victim’s residence. The suspects have been identified as 21 year old, Dylan “Jake” Marlow and 43 year old Roy Hunton, both from Bremen.

Marlow and Hunton reside on North Raburn Road within proximity to the victim’s residence and there have been prior disputes between the neighbors recently that may have led up to yesterday’s events. The fire did affect two occupied residences including a neighbor’s home where moderate damage occurred after the fire spread. Marlow and Hunton are currently charged with two counts of First Degree Arson and both men are facing multiple counts of Third Degree Arson, along with Aggravated Battery due to the victim being burned while attempting to extinguish the fires.

In addition to the current investigation, several suspicious fires have occurred in the area recently and Georgia Arson Control is offering up to a $10,000 reward in reference to the information leading to successful prosecution in those cases. They can be reached at 1-800-282-5804.
