Voters in Harlason County District Three will choose between two candidates in a runoff election for county commissioner today. On March 19, the field of five candidates was narrowed to a local attorney, Max Witcher, and construction project manager, Adam Budde. Budde has sought the seat twice before. Former District Three Commissioner, Ronnie Ridley resigned to qualify for the open county chair seat, a position he now holds after running unopposed.
Both candidates saw similar turnout in the first election with Witcher gaining 191 votes and Budde receiving 172 votes. According to election officials, 4,400 voters are eligible to vote in this race.
Open precincts for the special election are Bremen, Buchanan, Felton, Little Creek, Berea- Stedman, and Waco. Precincts are open from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Election officials say unofficial results are expected by 9:00 pm.
