Atlanta Journal Constitution political reporters suggest the reason District 28 State Senator Matt Brass was stripped of his role as chairman of the senate’s Reapportionment and Redistricting Committee this week, had to do with him “aggressively promoting” President Donald Trump’s claims of widespread election fraud, and pushing efforts to overturn the outcome— “which ran afoul” of Lt. Governor Jeff Duncan.

Although Duncan did replace Brass as head of the committee that is set to redraw the district maps later this year, he placed him as chair of the Banking Committee.

Brass declined comment regarding the story on Wednesday.
