Authorities say a 26-year old local fitness instructor drowned Saturday after diving into Lake Seaton to rescue his son who had fallen into the water.
Carroll County Coroner Keith Hancock has identified the drowning victim as Stefan Hunt ONeal of Carrollton.
Carroll Countys Communications Director Ashley Hulsey said Hunt-ONeal and another adult were fishing from a boat. Hunt-ONeals son fell off the boat. Both men jumped in to rescue him. The second adult male and the youth made it back to the boat safely. Hunt-ONeal did not.
DNR assisted Carroll County Fire Rescue and were able to recover his body a time later.
