20-year old Bowdon man dies in Thursday wreck

Georgia State Patrol confirms the death of 20-year old Bowdon man who died as the result of a single vehicle crash Thursday evening.

According to GSP Public Information Officer, Konswello Monroe, this crash is still under investigation.  

On June 23, at approximately 9:48 p.m., Post 4 Villa Rica responded to a vehicle crash on Ga-100 near W Jonesville Road in Carroll County.  

The preliminary investigation indicates that a GMC Sierra driven by a Masen McIntyre, age 20 of Bowdon, was traveling north on Ga-100 near W Jonesville Road.  

The Sierra traveled off the east shoulder of the road, where the driver over corrected, resulting in the vehicle crossing the center line and leaving the roadway onto the west shoulder.  The Sierra overturned, striking a parked Caterpillar wheel loader used for road construction on the west shoulder of Ga-100.  

Mr. McIntyre was not restrained and succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash at a local area hospital.

“Mase” was a 2020 graduate of Bowdon High School.
