11 Charged With Gang Participation After Fight At School Gym

On the night of 12-20-19 there was an incident at the Villa Rica High School during a basketball game. Officers discovered the incident while viewing the security cameras investigating a theft. During the incident the video showed a fight take place between several young people. During the altercation the suspects were seen “throwing” gang signs. There were also firearms that were shown during this altercation but no shots were fired.

The investigation found that several of the suspects were members of gangs to include “ProjeKt Gang” from Paulding County and YSN gang from Carroll County and possibly Rolling 20 Blood gang.

Villa Rica Police charged nine (9) juveniles from age 14-16 with various charges to include Participation in a Street Gang, Affray, Possession of a Firearm by a Minor, Carrying Weapon within School Safety Zone, and Aggravated Assault.

Aaliyah Deon Mitchell, 17 years old, from Villa Rica, and Josiah Azriel Lewis, 17 years old, from Rockmart were charged with Affray, Party to a Crime, and Participation in a Street Gang.
