WGTC Alum, Mark Foster, Recognized as Outstanding Alumni of the Year

CARROLLTON, GA – West Georgia Technical College (WGTC) selected Mark Foster as its 2023 Outstanding Alumni of the Year. Foster was recognized along with 22 other exceptional individuals by the Technical College System of Georgia (TCSG) at the annual Leadership Conference in Savannah. This prestigious honor celebrates the remarkable achievements and contributions of these alumni to their communities and the industries they serve.

“Our Alumni of the Year exemplifies the incredible talent that emerges from our technical colleges,” said TCSG Commissioner, Greg Dozier. “They are living proof of the transformative power of technical education and serve as role models for current and future students. We are immensely proud of their achievements.”

The Alumni of the Year honorees were selected based on their continued contributions to professional excellence, community engagement, advocacy for technical education and career success. They represent a diverse range of careers and industries from healthcare, business, information technology and public service.

Foster earned an Associate of Applied Science in Marketing Management from WGTC in 2002 and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Automotive Marketing/Automotive Management from Northwood University. For nearly 20 years, Foster has served in many positions in the automotive dealership industry. He is currently the Executive General Manager of Auto Gallery Chevrolet Buick GMC, Inc. in LaGrange, GA.

Throughout his thriving career, Foster has served on WGTC’s Marketing Management Advisory Board and is in his 6th year on the WGTC Foundation Board of Trustees, currently serving as chair elect.

Foster is also heavily involved in his community. He has been an active Rotarian since 2006, chair of the Carroll County Schools College and Career Academy Board since 2013 and has previously invested time with Carroll County CASA and the Carrollton Redevelopment Authority.

“Mark has and continues to provide unwavering support to WGTC and champions the mission of technical education,” said WGTC President Dr. Julie Post. “The College is proud to have such a successful graduate who continues to give back to his roots and his community.”
