Dispute Among Roomates Leads To Shooting

Bond has been set at $15,000 for a 44-year-old Carrollton man charged with aggravated assault.

Kevin Lee Carroll is alleged to have shot a man in the head during a scuffle on Sunday.

According to the initial report from the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office shared with WLBB Radio:

“On 9-17-23 Deputy George McLain was dispatched to 1855 Lovvorn Rd, Carrollton, Ga 30117 Lot #46 in reference to a gunshot wound.

Dispatch advised the subject stated they were arguing over a gun and it went off.

Caller was refusing to go back inside and check on the gunshot victim. Complainant stated the hand gun was put up in a bookbag, which was hanging on a bicycle outside.

Upon arrival Mclain made contact with the Complainant/Suspect Kevin Carroll standing outside of the residence. The Deputy detained Kevin and sat him down in front of his patrol car. McLain went inside and located Victim Walter Glore laying in the hallway with a gunshot wound to the head, and a large amount of blood on the ground.

McLain asked Walter if he could speak and he said yes. He asked Walter what happened and he stated Kevin Carroll shot him. He then asked asked Walter if it was an accident and he stated no.

West Ga EMS and Carroll County Fire arrived on scene and began accessing the patient.

McLain then spoke briefly with Witness/Victim Corry Lea (who shares an address with the alleged shooter, Mclain) who stated he advised Walter he needed to leave or he was going to have him evicted. Corry stated Walter got mad and began throwing things around inside the house.

Corry stated he advised Walter he needed to settle down or he was calling the law enforcement. Corry stated that Walter said, call them and got in his face and began choking him. Corry stated that’s when Kevin shot Walter in the head.

Mclain states that Corry was very hard to understand.

49-year old Glore (who has a Woodstock address) was flown to Grady for treatment.”
