UWG waiving ACT/SAT score requirements for 2021

Following guidance from the University System of Georgia, the University of West Georgia will waive ACT and SAT test score requirements for prospective freshman applicants for spring, summer and fall 2021 admission.

Students must still meet all other admission requirements and must meet adjusted minimum grade point average eligibility thresholds for admission to UWG. Students who have SAT/ACT scores may still submit them.

“Now is a perfect time for students to take the next step toward their college career,” said Dr. Justin Barlow, director of admissions at UWG. “The Fall 2021 application is open right now, and after students complete their application, we match them with a personal application assistant to make sure they get the help they need.”

UWG also offers both face-to-face and virtual tour options, Barlow said.

According to information from the USG, the decision to waive test requirements was made after monitoring testing availability during the spring and summer, when multiple test date cancellations caused limited testing availability and negatively impacted students.
