Three Central High School Students Selected for Georgia All-State Chorus

(Thursday, November 17, 2022, Carrollton, Georgia). Three (3) Central High School students have been selected to participate in the Georgia Music Educators Association (GMEA) Georgia All-State Chorus. The performance marks the 5th time senior Olivia Vande Kerkhoff has been selected and is the first time for both Sydney Mount (9th) and Michele Presley (10th).

The GMEA Georgia All-State Chorus is an auditioned program that includes singers from around the state of Georgia. In order to be accepted, students must sing a scale cycle, a solo in a foreign language, and complete three (3) sight singing examples. Out of more than 5500 auditioning students, only a few hundred are selected to sing in one of four (4) Georgia All-State high school choirs.

The Georgia All-State Chorus event will be held February 16-18, 2023 at the Classic Center in Athens, Georgia. Central High School’s chorus teacher is Ms. Ruthie Phillips.
