The Carroll County School District To Close Schools; Virtual Learning Planned

After Governor Brian KempÂ’s statewide press conference and reviewing the information provided by state health agencies, Carroll County School System will close schools beginning Monday, March 16, 2020, for a possible two-week period. As district officials receive further information or guidance, they will communicate any changes. Friday, March 13th will remain a regularly scheduled Teacher Work Day. Staff will be provided with specific instructions regarding expectations and duties.

The district believes the risk to the general public remains low at this time, however they say they are taking precautionary measures to ensure the health and well-being of students and staff.

Teachers have a digital learning plan located on his or her website. These days will be virtual learning days for students. Students are expected to login to their teacherÂ’s website and participate in learning activities. For specific questions about digital learning, please contact your childÂ’s teacher via email. For students who do not have internet access, his or her teacher will provide alternate assignments that do not require technology.
