Source Revealed From Threatening Call

Authorities have identified the unlikely source of the call that threatened acts of violence on Oak Mountain Academy. The call, placed last Tuesday forced, the school to lock down and the sheriffÂ’s department to respond. After further investigation, Carroll County Chief Deputy Brad Robinson told WLBB radio that the call came from two teenagers living in Liverpool, England. The juveniles also made the threatening calls to other institutions. This linked Oak Mountain to threats made in Decatur and Dunwoody.

“During the investigation there was a common phone number that was linked by our officers and Dunwoody Police and officers in Decatur. What was noticed were these were calls from the same number that made similar calls to schools in Utah, Nebraska, Canada and as I said in Dunwoody, Decatur and Carroll County schools,” said Robinson.

The FBI and ATF will handle further investigations into the threatening phone calls and could possibly bring charges from the FBI field office in the UK.
