Man Faces Six Counts Of Aggravated Assault; Accused Of Firing Gun At Occupied Residence

A judge in Carroll County on Friday denied bond for a 31-year old Gainesville, Georgia man charged with six counts of aggravated assault after investigators say he fired multiple gunshots toward a home where an acquaintance and family were inside. The alleged victims include two juveniles. Fortunately, no one inside the Lovvorn Road property was injured.

One of the victims told police that around 5:30pm Saturday, February 22nd, he and his girlfriend returned home after eating out. He then heard a truck pull into the driveway. Soon after, he heard two gun-shots and saw a “maroon-in-color” Toyota Tundra backing out of the driveway. He apparently recognized the driver and told police the Tundra was driven by Kerry Mitchell.

The victim says he hopped into his own truck and pursued the Tundra for a short time before returning back to his residence.

Investigators later found evidence of two gun shots on the victimsÂ’ porch.

Carroll County deputies charged Mitchell on Wednesday.
