Haralson County Unemployment Rate Down in November

Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Haralson County’s unemployment rate dropped three-tenths of a percent to 2.7 percent from October to November. A year ago, the rate was 2.6 percent.

“We are seeing job numbers continue to rise across the state as Georgians secure employment,” said Commissioner Butler. “Unemployment rates also dropped in regions throughout Georgia in November as we entered the holiday employment period.” 

The labor force decreased in November by 57 to 13,116. That number is up 199 over-the-year.

Haralson County ended November with 12,757 employed residents.  The number decreased by 15 in November and was up 179 as compared to last year.

Initial claims for unemployment decreased by 41 percent in November. When compared to last November, claims were down about 13 percent.

Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed 210 active job postings in Haralson County for November.
