Haralson County Unemployment Rate at All-Time Low

 
Georgia Labor Commissioner Mark Butler said Thursday that Haralson County recorded an all-time low unemployment rate of 2.2 percent, down six-tenths of a percent over the month.  A year ago, the rate was 5.3 percent.
 
“We are seeing all-time low unemployment rates throughout the state of Georgia reflecting an economy that is continuing to rapidly recover,” said Commissioner Mark Butler. “We are working with employers across the state to post, recruit, and fill critical positions in preparation for a strong holiday employment season.”
 
The labor force increased in September by 6 to 12,595. That number is up 732 over-the-year.
 
Haralson County ended September with 12,316 employed residents.  The number increased by 80 in September and was up 1,081 as compared to last year.
 
Initial claims for unemployment were down 8 percent in September. When compared to last September, claims were down about 84 percent.
 
Employ Georgia, the GDOL’s online job listing service at employgeorgia.com showed 165 active job postings in Haralson County for September.
