GSP Identifies Woman Killed In Two Vehicle Crash Involving School Bus

The Georgia State Patrol has released the name of the woman who died Wednesday after her vehicle collided with a Carroll County school bus.

53-year old Sherry L. Penn of Temple died at Grady Medical in Atlanta due to injuries suffered in the crash.

The crash occurred after 10:00am Wednesday and involved a Carroll County school bus and a Ford Explorer.  The bus was southbound on GA 113 negotiating a left curve.  The Explorer was northbound on GA 113 negotiating a right curve.  Witness testimony and roadway evidence indicates the Explorer crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck the bus head on.  There was one child on the bus.  The bus driver and that child were checked at the scene and refused treatment.  The child’s parent had been notified.  The driver of the Explorer was air lifted to Grady.

SGT Barrow with the Troop D Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team is assisting GSP Post 4/ Villa Rica with the investigation.
