Foundation’s Golden Giving Campaign Reaches Goal

CARROLLTON, GA – A planned annual campaign launched last fall is quickly building momentum to become a significant funding tool for the Carrollton City Schools Education Foundation.

The Golden Giving Campaign was launched to provide a structured process for making regular donations to support the foundation’s general endowment. Laurie Fleck, executive director of the foundation, noted before Golden Giving, fundraising was achieved through a loosely-based system of friends asking friends for support. Foundation board members knew people who could be dedicated supporters were being missed.

“After a year of planning, this fiscal year marks the first full year of fund-raising efforts through this branded campaign,” said Fleck. “This year our goal was to match a portion of what teachers give through a payroll deduction Employee Giving program. We set our sights on $20,000 and the Trojan Nation did not disappoint.”

Fleck said in three weeks the campaign reached its goal with more than half of the contributions from donors who opted for a monthly enrollment option that allows a supporter to conveniently give in perpetuity unless they opt out of the program, providing a steady stream of support for the foundation’s program areas.

Fleck listed the following highlights from this year’s campaign:

This year’s effort produced 120 Golden Givers which is a 70% increase in donors since the campaign began a month ago.

Although donations are still trickling in, it appears the campaign has comfortably reached its $20,000 goal.

The success of the Golden Giving campaign, combined with Employee Giving contributions, will produce close to $60,000 in gifts to be used for instructional grants, field trip experiences, and scholarships for students and teachers.

“I could not be more pleased with the success of our campaign this year and the long-term impact it will have in our schools,” said Fleck. “We are so grateful to all those who have given. As we close out the fundraising campaign, we are looking forward to awarding more than $20,000 to teachers  through instructional grants and I could not think of a more fitting way to celebrate Golden Giving than to see it immediately at work in our classrooms. Our foundation board is excited about the future of the foundation and the Golden Giving annual campaign. We are off to a great start.”
