Families Displaced Following Two Weekend Fires

Two Haralson County families were displaced over the weekend after fire destroyed their rental homes and much of their belongings inside.

Haralson County Fire Chief Brian Walker said the fires reported on Highway 113 and in Bremen occurred within 40 minutes of one another on Saturday. He says both homes affected were total losses and all occupants escaped injury.

Walker says both fires appear to be accidental. One was caused by a heating device and the other was described as an electrical fire.

The community reached out to the families on Sunday by posting prayers and offers to help the families with clothing and other items.

One GoFundMe.com page had collected close to $1,000 for one of the families by Monday morning.
