The Georgia State Patrol says the driver of a vehicle that collided with a school bus Wednesday morning has died.

According To GSP Post 4 out of Villa Rica, the crash involved a Carroll County school bus and a (redacted).  The bus was southbound on GA 113 negotiating a left curve.  The other vehicle was northbound on GA 113 negotiating a right curve.  Witness testimony and roadway evidence indicates the other vehicle crossed the center line into the southbound lane and struck the bus head on.  There was one child on the bus.  The bus driver and that child were checked at the scene and refused treatment.  The child’s parent had been notified.  The driver of the other vehicle was air lifted to Grady where the person passed away from their injuries.

The name of the deceased will not being released until next of kin notification is handled.
