CUES Makes Home For 50th Abby’s Closet

CARROLLTON, GA –  A recent donation by Abby’s Angels Foundation at Carrollton Upper Elementary School is a cozy nook where students can go to get school supplies. Abby’s Angels Foundation installed its 50th “Abby’s Closet” at CUES this week.

Abby’s Angels Foundation was founded in August of 2013 to honor 9-year-old Abby Bacho who was tragically killed in a car accident in 2012. The mission of the foundation is to provide school supplies to students who need them. Abby’s Closets are designed to be colorful, inspirational spaces to provide encouragement for success. Abby’s Angels also spreads awareness and education on safe teen driving.

Abby’s mother, Natalie Bacho, said the closets are a perfect way to honor Abby’s memory. “Abby was a spunky, empathetic kid,” said Bacho. “She always wanted other kids to feel included and was a friend to everyone.”

CUES principal Stacy Lawler is excited about Abby’s Closet being added to CUES. “I believe that our students will be so inspired by Abby and her story. We are so thankful for Abby’s Angels Foundation pouring into our students.”

Natalie Bacho helps Carrollton Upper Elementary School student Cynthia Collins pick an item from Abby’s Closet.

Bacho said Abby also loved shopping for new school supplies each year. “She would get excited every year to get new school supplies,” Bacho said. “Abby’s Closests are truly the best way to honor her memory.”
