The Carroll County Water Authority experienced a mechanical issue at the Snake Creek Water Treatment Plant during the last week of April which placed one of the four treatment filters out of service.  Georgia EPD was notified of the issue and the planned repairs last week.  Since then, CCWA has obtained the services of a contractor that specializes in filter maintenance and rebuilds to perform necessary repairs on the affected filter.  Materials required for the filter repair have been ordered and are expected to be delivered within the next two to three weeks.  The filter repair will proceed as soon as the materials arrive.  At this time, it is expected that the filter repair will be completed by the end of May. 

CCWA is proud to report that all federal and state water treatment parameters have been met, and the water continues to be perfectly safe for human consumption.  NO Boil Water Advisory was necessary for this situation.

CCWA would like to thank our neighboring utility partners for providing supplemental water to the distribution system during this time.

CCWA continues to request that customers be mindful of water use and conserve until the water treatment plant returns to full operating capacity.  This will be especially important as we enter our typical higher water demand season that generally starts around Memorial Day.
