Carrollton Woman Killed In Two-Vehicle Crash

A two-vehicle crash late Wednesday results in the death of a 20-year old Carrollton woman.

According to Georgia State Patrol Investigators:

The crash occurred around 9:36 p.m. on February 27.

A 2012 Ford Fusion driven by 20-year old Savannah Kyndiel Stephens of Carrollton was northbound on GA 1 in the left turn lane for Columbia Drive.

A 2017 Chevrolet Silverado driven by a 32-year old male from LaGrange was traveling south on GA 1 in the right lane.

The Fusion failed to yield and turned left into the SilveradoÂ’s path.

The front Silverado struck the right side of the Fusion, causing the Ford to rotate counter-clockwise and travel south a short distance before coming to final rest in the acceleration lane from Columbia Drive onto GA 1 southbound.  The resulting momentum forced the Chevy to rotate clockwise and come to a final rest in the painted gore between Columbia Drive and GA 1 and facing north.

Stephens was fatally injured in the crash.

The Silverado’s passenger—a 44-year old LaGrange woman—was airlifted to Atlanta Medical Center. Her condition is currently being evaluated.
