Carrollton Police Increasing Patrols In Neighborhood Where Dispute Has Grown To “Prevent Serious Injury or Death”

A 20-year old Carrollton man charged with aggravated assault and reckless conduct remains in the Carroll County Jail Tuesday.

Carrollton Police believe he pointed a gun at least one person during a dispute on Nizzear Lane over the weekend. Officers are concerned this incident is part of an ongoing dispute which continues to be a problem in that neighborhood.

Officers investigating the incident say they were previously aware of ongoing issues between Tykeem Parham and the mother of his child. Officers say the two have been progressively getting more hostile to each other the past week and other subjects have been getting involved.

In the most recent incident, witnesses claim that Parham had pointed a weapon at an individual and yelled “face shots, face shots, ain`t scared to give face shots.” This left the alleged victim clearly shaken up.

During an interview with officers, Parham admitted to police that he did point the gun, but said, he only wanted to scare the victim.

Investigators say that alleged-action was performed in the presence of at least seven other people, thus, placed them within immediate danger of receiving a serious bodily injury.

Officers worry this dispute could continue to be a problem on Nizzear Lane, with more and more people becoming involved. The original disputes have expanded to include both families and friends of each party.

Police are increasing patrols in the area and say they are doing everything they can to prevent a serious injury or death.
