Carrollton Police said that they are confident that a group out of the Atlanta area is responsible for a rash of vehicle break-ins reported by residents at the Mill Pond sub-division late last week. Captain Shannon Cantrell said at least 25 cars were broken into. He believes, in each instance, the vehicles were left unlocked. Items stolen included jewelry and watches. Most concerning to Cantrell, was the theft of a pistol. Investigators say debit cards were stolen as well and investigators are reviewing surveillance video from an area convenience store where one of the stolen debit cards was used in the hours after the robbery.
