Carrollton Family Awakened By Bullet Shot Into Their Home

A Carrollton family is reportedly unharmed after police say a single bullet entered their Juniper Lane home, leaving a bullet-sized hole in their wall.

Investigators determined the shot came from a nearby property. They did not suggest the family was the intended target of the shot fired.

A series of interviews led investigators to believe that 37-year old Matthew Miller of Ider, Alabama had fired numerous gun-shots towards a pine tree. Investigators determined there was a direct line from the location of spent casings they recovered, the pine tree, and the victim`s residence.

Investigators also determined that Miller was intoxicated when he fired rounds.

He has been charged with misdemeanor reckless conduct and discharging a firearm while intoxicated.

#UPDATE after meeting a $6,500 bond for Carroll County Jail, Miller was reportedly detained for charges in Kauai County, Hawaii. He remains in Carroll County.
