Carroll County Deputies Called When Victim’s Father Points Gun At Sex Offender

Bond has been denied for a 45-year old registered sex offender with a Whitesburg address, accused of touching a 5-year old child inappropriately.

Benjamin Roy McCullough received a level 2 risk assessment classification after he was convicted of sexual battery against a child under 16 years of age, in September of 2004.

Level 2 means the sexual offender is an intermediate sex offense risk and intermediate recidivism risk for future sexual offenses.

Regarding his arrest this month, Carroll County investigators say a forensic interview was conducted and the young male victim shared details of an incident.

The suspect declined to speak with investigators.

Deputies say they were initially called out to the property in reference to a child molestation and the alleged victim’s father pointing a gun toward McCullough.

McCullough had most recently updated his personal information and image with the Georgia Bureau Of Investigation Sex Offender Registry on November 3, 2022.
