Carroll County BOC Could Revisit Animal Control Ordinances

The Carroll County Board of Commissioners will re-visit animal control ordinances. Among the changes being considered: outdoor animals that are restrained, would need to be on a tethering device attached to a swiveling anchor and a chain must be four times the body length of the animal. Also in the discussion, chaining an animal to a vehicle, dog-house, tree or pole could be prohibited.

Pet owners could also be legally required to “Make it impossible for other dogs or cats to impregnate their animal-in-heat. The recommendation is confining the animal.”

The BOC could vote on changes to the ordinance next Tuesday.
