Boil Water Advisory

The Carroll County Water Authority has issued a boil water advisory for its northeastern Carroll
County service area. This advisory is issued as a precautionary measure in response to a
waterline break that could potentially have compromised local water quality. The waterline was
damaged by the February 20th severe storms. Repairs to the damaged waterline sections are
underway.

The boil water advisory is limited to Carroll County Water Authority customers located north of
US Highway 78 and City of Temple residents. Areas served by the City of Villa Rica are not
affected.

Authority personnel will be flushing affected waterlines and having samples analyzed to assure
that water continues to meet the high standards Authority customers have come to
expect. Affected residents may continue to experience lower than normal water pressure while
service is restored and flushing of mains continue. Authority officials recommend that residents
in the advisory area heat water to a rolling boil for at least five minutes prior to drinking until
further notice. CCWA will issue an additional press release once the boil water advisory has
been lifted. Questions or concerns regarding this notice may be directed to Tom Kohler,
Engineering Manager, at (678) 890-0055 or Frances Macy, Water and Wastewater Treatment
Manager at (678) 890-0057.
