Last Weekend’s Concert at The Amp Sets Records in Carrollton

Carrollton Mainstreet officials said last week’s concert at The Amp in Carrollton featuring country music legend Lee Ann Womack produced one of the venue’s largest turnouts to date. A few thousand people are estimated to have been around the venue last Saturday.

While events at The Amp are free to the public, the events are designed to attract more people to downtown shops and eateries. Mainstreet Director Aundi Lesley, this week, said businesses on and adjacent to Adamson Square reported an increase in sales of about 30%  that night, on average.

Meanwhile, Lesley says Carrollton’s Downtown Dollars campaign proved successful in fiscal year 2019, saying nearly $20,000 worth of the gift certificates were purchased over the last year, setting a new record for the campaign. Downtown Dollars are typically purchased as gifts in which receivers can redeem at most businesses in downtown Carrollton.
