Villa Rica City Council Approves Nine Month Budget

Villa Rica Ga -- Villa Rica City Council, on Tuesday, approved a $20 million budget for the first nine months of 2018. While the city will maintain its millage rate, the budget does call for an increase to customer's water and sewer bills.

The reason for only a 9 month budge is that the city council had voted in the fall to change the 12 month fiscal year to October 1 through September 30, instead of using the January through December calendar year. That new plan will take effect beginning this October.

The new utility rate should take effect in February and would result in an increase of 7% for the average water customer, or about $9.50.
