Haralson County Cities Top for Starting Business in Georgia

Haralson County Ga -- Area residents considering starting up a new business should look to Bremen and Tallapoosa.  That is according to a new survey conducted by the online marketplace for student and personal loans, LendEDU. It analyzed 600 Georgia communities based on daytime population, population growth, disposable income, income growth as well as property taxes, sales tax, utility costs and property crimes. Tallapoosa came in at 23 and the survey ranks Bremen as the third best town in Georgia for starting a small business.

"We long thought that we had a very conservative tax policy towards city property taxes and we felt that our utility rates were very competitive. We've seen not just fly by night type of businesses popping up and closing, but we've seen some people really putting investments into structures in town," commented Perry Hicks, Bremen's City Manager. "We kind of had an idea that we were a good community for businesses and I think that this is just something that is based on real numbers and it's not something that is just rhetoric or fluff marketing."
