Police Say Drive-By Shooting Was Gang-Related Retaliation

Carrollton Police on Thursday arrested five young suspects for their alleged roles in a drive-by shooting, which officers had been investigating since last Saturday.

CPD Captain Shannon Cantrell says eighteen shots were fired at a residence on Corporate Drive. Inside the home were 5 people, one of which was a small young child. Cantrell says somehow, no one was struck.

Investigators believe the shooting was in retaliation for another shooting incident in which the Carroll County Sheriff's Office had worked off Old Airport Road a couple months back. Police have charged 5 suspects with aggravated assault relating to Saturday's shooting. One of the three  juveniles arrested and two of the 17-year olds were students at Carrollton High School. The 17-year old suspects are identified as Jeffery Lamar Johnson, Jr. and Quintavious Hill.

All subjects arrested are reportedly members of the YGG Gang in Carrollton. Cantrell said, "This was a gang related offense and possible gang charges are pending."
