Carrol County Ga -- Carroll County School District Assistant Superintendent for Teaching and Learning, Dr. Dana Harman is encouraging parents to revisit their students' personal Georgia milestones test results and use the information provided to understand the students strengths and where they may need to improve a little in the new school year.
Harman said: " It's information that can be a starting point for this year. If parents have concerns about where their child scored, whether it be developing or even proficient, we always encourage them to reach out to teachers for ways to support the learning process. It's a starting point for us to move forward and think about the progress we are going to make this year."
As a whole, the Carroll County district surpassed the state in several categories of milestone testing, says Harman. Those figures were released last month.
"We are very pleased and proud of our students and their performance on the milestone. As a district we improved on 18 out of the 24 assessments. Our elementary schools outperformed the state in every area and at every grade level."
ELA 3 through 8 is a place where the district could see improvement, as is the case with many schools in the state.
