Villa Rica Names Final 4 Candidates For Vacant City Manager Job

The Mayor and Council of Villa Rica have completed their initial round of interviews for candidates for the open position of City Manager in Villa Rica.  The initial interviews of candidates were made from a group recommended by the City's consultant, Tom Berry of Underwood & Company.  The primary criteria for inclusion in the initial group of interviewees was significant experience as a city manager. 
The four finalists for the position include (in alphabetical order):  Tom Barber, Bobby Elliott, Rick Stancil and Thomas Thomas.
The City expects to conduct further background checks and to further interview the candidates prior to making a decision.  The applications and resumes submitted by the four candidates are available for review by the public on the City's website at www.villarica.org.  Comments from the public concerning any of the candidates can be made directly to the Mayor and Council through Human Resources Director, Stephanie Rooks at srooks@villarica.org.  It is anticipated that a final decision will be made concerning the selection of the City Manager at a regular or special called meeting of the Council in accordance with all provisions of Georgia Law.
