Community Foundation Announces Grants Totaling $30,000 To 29 Teachers from Alice Huffard Richards Arts Enrichment Fund

The Community Foundation of West Georgia today announced grants totaling $30,000 to local teachers from The Alice Huffard Richards Arts Enrichment for Our Children Fund, a component fund of the Community Foundation.

This is the ninth round of grants from the Alice H. Richards Arts Enrichment for Our Children Fund with distributionsof up to $1,000 each to 29art, music and drama teachers from Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties.

This fund was established to honor Mrs. Richards and her commitment to and belief in the importance of the arts for children.  Art, music and drama teachers in public schools, grades Pre-K through 12 located in Carroll, Haralson and Heard counties are eligible each year to apply for funds from the grant program to purchase supplies and supplemental teaching materials or to secure the services of an outside artist.

Bay Springs Middle School:  The SmART Stuff and Keep the Music Playing
Bowdon Elementary School:  general supplies
Bremen Middle School:  easels for art
Carrollton Elementary School:  Piano STEAM
Carrollton High School:  voice amplification
Carrollton Middle School: ceramics program expansion and new instruments
Central Elementary School:  recorders and ukulele and art curriculum funding
CentralhatcheeElementary School:  dry artwork
Ephesus Elementary School:  dry artwork
Glanton-Hindsman Elementary School: Suzuki keyboard control system and S.T.E.A.M.: Art Inspired by Culture
Ithica Elementary School:  basic needs, general music and chorus productions
Mt. Zion Elementary School:  general art supplies
Mt. Zion High School: Elements of Art
Mt. Zion Middle School:  We Arted!
Providence Elementary School:  Fables: Watercolor and The Dance of Color: Fluidity of Paint and Ink
Roopville Elementary School:  ukuleles
Sand Hill Elementary School:  basic needs and Music Express curriculum
Temple Elementary School: The Dance of Color: Fluidity of Paint and Ink
Temple High School:  Digital Art for the Digital Age
Temple Middle School:  Digital Art for the Digital Age
Villa Rica Elementary:  music classroom resources and instruments and S.T.E.A.M.: Art Inspired by Culture
Villa Rica High School: Musicals for Our Classroom and painting studio upgrade
Villa Rica MiddleSchool:  harmony trainer for band and audiate the Wildcat Chorus.
