Carrollton Man Killed Following Pursuit By Police

The Georgia Bureau Of Investigation says a Carrollton man was killed after firing at law enforcement early Tuesday morning.
They say 36-year old David Wesley Carroll was killed after a multi-county crime spree ended with a car crash and shootout with police on the Fayette-Coweta county line.
Carroll’s alleged crime spree had begun on Monday in Carrollton where he was accused of taking part in the theft of a trailer.
He was later learned to be in Fayette County where he allegedly broke down the door to a home where a family was watching television and demanded keys to the car outside.
Fayette County authorities pursued Carroll in the stolen vehicle toward the Coweta County line where a roadblock had been set up. When Carroll attempted to drive around the roadblock, he wrecked the car and then began firing at officers.
Carroll was hit by officers returning gunfire and was pronounced dead at the scene. Investigators did not confirm whether Carroll died from a gunshot wound or the wreck, on Tuesday.
No officers were hurt during the exchange.
