Public Works Planning Road-Widening Project

Carroll County road crews are making plans to widen Oak Mountain Road by two feet on each side.

Public Works Superintendent Charles Pope says its part of an ongoing effort to make well-traveled roads safer for traffic.
“”Oak Mountain Road is a cut-through from the triangle down south to Hwy 27 below Wal-Mart,” Pope explained. “When we get that completed it will be 24-foot wide all the way from SR 166/61 to Hwy 27.”
The Carroll County Board Of Commissioners could approve funding for the project next week.
