ATLANTA (November 16, 2016) | The Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) announced it awarded 22 contracts for statewide construction projects totaling over $45 million. This includes $2.82 million for bridge rehabilitation at nine bridge locations along I-20 in Carroll County.
“I-20 is Georgia’s main east/west artery making it one of the most traveled interstates in Georgia. Therefore, in an effort to keep people safe, we must ensure that the bridges along this corridor meet the national standards put in place by the Federal Highway Administration,” said Sen. Mike Dugan. “These rehabilitation projects will improve driving conditions for our citizens and ensure that our roadways remain safe.”
Since FY 17 began July 1, contracts have been awarded for resurfacing of 592 miles of interstates and state routes, representing an investment of over $184 million. In FY 16, the Department resurfaced 941 miles valued at $688 million.
