Local Woman Killed In Monday Morning Crash

A 53-year old Buchanan woman was killed Monday when her van dropped off a steep embankment in Haralson County.

Georgia's Department of Public Safety (DPS) Public Information Office tells WLBB Radio that the crash happened around 10:18 am Monday on Windridge Lane in Temple.

According to the report: A 2000 Dodge Ram van was traveling southbound on Windridge. 
The driver, Deborah Janita Paul, 53, of Buchanan, lost control of her vehicle.
The vehicle traveled off the east edge of the roadway and rolled over as it dropped off a steep embankment. 
The vehicle then struck a tree with its right side and then ignited into flames as it came to an uncontrolled rest on its top facing southbound.

Paul was part of the popular Southern Gospel group The Paul Family.
