Carroll BOC: Temporary Ban On Swimming From McIntosh Park

Carroll County officials have called for a temporary ban on swimming activities in the Chattahoochee River at McIntosh Reserve until the Board of Commissioners meets again to discuss the park's future.
The ruling comes hours after a 6-year old Carrollton boy drowned Saturday. This was the fourth drowning in the area in the last year.
District-5 Commissioner Kevin Jackson called for the moratorium. Chairman Marty Smith agreed.
County staff will post 'no swimming' signs Sunday. The signs and order will remain until at least August when the Carroll County Board of Commissioners next meets for a regular meeting.
Jackson said Saturday night : "Please lift up the family who lost a child today in your thoughts and prayers."
