Body Of Missing Swimmer Found

Search crews have located the body of the 27-year old man who drowned in the Chattahoochee River near McIntosh Reserve Saturday.
Carroll County Fire Chief Scott Blue says Timothy Shane Phillips was found around noon Wednesday.
Blue says Phillips has lived in both Carroll and Haralson counties recently.
He was at a child's birthday party Saturday; had gone for a swim and perhaps under-estimated the distance from one spot on the river to another.
"With the 4th of July weekend coming up, it's important to remind people to be safe, wear a life preserver, and don't swim far in a river you are not familiar with," Blue stressed. "I think a lot of people don't realize that there is a strong current in the river. It's stronger than most think."
Phillips was to turn 28 on July 10th.
His family has been notified of the crews' finding today.
Carroll County Fire Rescue along with personnel from Carroll County Sheriff’s Office, Carroll County Emergency Management, Carroll County Parks, Coweta County Sheriff’s Office, Coweta County Fire Department, Douglas County Emergency Management, Georgia State Patrol, and Georgia Department of Natural Resources worked together in the 5-day search.
