2 Killed/ 2 Injured In I-20 Wreck

According to J. Gordy Wright, Public Information at GA Dept. of Public Safety:

"The Georgia State Patrol is investigating a crash in Carroll County on Interstate 20 at South Van Wert Road Bridge that has resulted in two fatalities and two injuries.  Two vehicles were involved in the initial crash and two other vehicles hit debris in the roadway.  The fatalities are the driver and passenger in the cab of the tractor trailer.
Troopers were called to the crash around 7:35 p.m. and initial indication is that the tractor trailer and a Cadillac SUV were traveling eastbound when the vehicle made contact and both traveled into the median.  The tractor trailer jackknifed with the cab separating from the trailer.  The cab then hit the bridge pillar to the South Van Wert Road Bridge and caught fire.  The two people in the cab of the truck died in the crash and two people in the SUV were transported to Tanner Medical in Villa Rica with non-life-threatening injuries.
Two vehicles traveling westbound struck debris that landed in the travel lanes and their vehicles sustained damage.
The crash investigation continues."
