Students Treated For Minor Injuries After AM Bus Crash In Haralson County

UPDATE (4:50PM):
According To Georgia State Patrol:

There were 49 students on board, 21 had minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals by ambulance or parents. The driver of the pickup truck is Maggie Lynn Condrey, age 17 from Muscadine, AL. She was air lifted to Grady Hospital. The bus driver is Deborah Harrison from Buchanan.

The investigation is still ongoing. The report is not complete.

According to Georgia State Patrol:

A Haralson County school bus was traveling east on Hwy 120 towards Buchanan and a black Dodge pickup truck, driven by a 17 year old female, was traveling west on Hwy 120 towards Tallapoosa. The truck crossed the centerline and struck the school bus head-on. The driver of the truck received serious injuries and was airlifted to Grady Hospital. The bus driver, and approximately five students received minor injuries and were transported to local hospitals. The investigation is ongoing and Hwy 120 will be closed for several hours.

Haralson County Fire Chief Brian Walker says students are being treated for minor injuries after the bus they were riding collided with a pick-up truck this morning.

The accident happened in a sharp curve along Hwy 120 near Pine Grove Road.
Walker says students notifying responders of any minor injuries were taken to Higgins General in Bremen. The rest of the students were taken to their schools by another bus, where they will be re-evaluated by a school nurse.

The woman driving the pick-up was life-flighted to an Atlanta hospital.

The section of Hwy 120 between Haralson County High School and Pine Grove Road is expected to be shut down until at least 1:00 this afternoon.
