Carroll County Schools Calendar/ Budget

Carroll County Schools’ students will begin the 2014-2015 school year August 7th now that the school board approved a new 178-day calendar Monday. That first day of school is a Thursday.
Meanwhile, it looks like the school system will pass its first budget in several years that will not require dipping into fund equity.
“We intend for the first time in a long time to pass a balanced budget this year,” BOE Chairman Jon Anderson said Monday. “Right now the projection is we will have $800,000 in additional revenue over what we spent last year.”
Anderson says there is the possibility removing two furlough days from the new calendar. “So we’d move from six to four. The staff would have more work-days,” he said. All signs are positive in terms of the budget.”
