Upon arrival the officers found a white Ford F-150 leaving the scene at a high rate of speed. The suspect vehicle left the roadway to drive around one of the responding officers and then ran a stop sign as it turned north on Hwy 61.

The officer pursued the vehicle at a high rate of speed, and after entering Paulding County, a passenger in the vehicle began firing a rifle at the pursing officer. That passenger was later identified as David Anthony Bray, 35 years old, from Dallas Ga.

The chase continued into Paulding County and ended in a subdivision near South Paulding High School and Dugan Elementary School when the driver ran the truck through a pine tree thicket where it became disabled. Prior to the vehicle stopping the driver drove over mailboxes and through both sides of a privacy fence at one home.

Two passengers and the driver were located within minutes of the chase ending and taken into custody. The driver was identified as Raymond Edward Messel, 29 years old, Temple Ga. The two passengers were identified as Amanda McGee, 35 years old, Temple Ga. and Kimberly Mauldin, 27 years old, Temple Ga.

Officers also found that Bray and Messel were wearing body armor (bulletproof vests). A handgun and rifle were found near the vehicle. Both firearms were found to have been reported stolen.

The suspects face numerous felony and misdemeanor charges as a result of their actions. The Villa Rica Police Department would like to thank Paulding County S.O., Georgia State Patrol, Paulding Co.
