Georgia House Could Approve Adding New Judge For District

A bill that would create a new judgeship for the Coweta Judicial Circuit could be approved by the Georgia house today.
House bill 742 would add a seventh judge for the five-county Coweta Judicial Circuit, covering Carroll, Coweta, Heard, Troup and Meriwether counties.
The Coweta district has one of the highest caseloads of any circuit in the state.
Today is crossover day, the last day a house bill can pass out of the house or a senate bill can pass out of the senate, in order to receive final approval during the legislative session.
