US Marshals Catch Carrollton Man Wanted For Atlanta-Murder

On 11/06/2013, the Atlanta Police Department asked for the assistance of the United States Marshals Southeast Regional Fugitive Task Force (SERFTF) in locating and arresting Tyler Jarel Thomas who was wanted for Murder. The charges stem from a Homicide that took place in Northwest Atlanta in June of 2013.

Knowing that Thomas had frequented the Carroll County area, SERFTF investigators contacted the Carroll County Sheriff’s Office and enlisted their aid in looking for Thomas’ vehicle.

On the evening of 11/18/2013, the vehicle was located in the Villa Rica area as it travelled towards Carrollton. The vehicle ultimately turned into a gas station on Bankhead Highway in Carrollton. Thomas observed the following vehicles and attempted to exit the parking lot, striking a pedestrian during the process (We have learned that the pedestrian received only minor injuries).

SERFTF investigators were able to box in the vehicle and take Thomas into custody before he got out of the lot. The Carrollton Police Department responded to assist with the investigation.
