School & County Plan To Swap Properties

Carroll County and the Carroll County School Board are discussing a property swap that could produce the location for the school system’s planned performing arts center.
Carroll County District-One commissioner Trent North says the two entities have been discussing a “mutually beneficial property trade” for almost three years.
The county school system would receive a piece of property located near the county schools’ administration building in exchange for land near Sharp Creek Elementary a 10-acre tract of land in the Hullett Community.
North says the Sharp Creek property has a body of water and is near the Little Tallapoosa Park, so “it could be part of that plan.”
The tract of land in the Hullett Community could potentially be used for recreation projects in the future, according to North.
The performing arts center is proposed in the list of SPLOST IV projects.
