Painted Wolf Stolen From City Hall Lawn

Carrollton Police say someone has stolen one of the painted wolves strategically placed throughout the city.
Captain Chris Dobbs says the life-sized fiberglass wolf installed outside of Carrollton City Hall as part of the University of West Georgia’s Howl for UWG project in 2012 was taken sometime during the early morning hours Wednesday.
The wolf is painted with a scene from Newnan Street on one side and Willie Walker Road on the other half. It was snapped-off at the legs from its stand.
The eight other wolves installed last October are reportedly still standing and can be seen throughout UWG's campus and at select spots in the city of Carrollton.
Proceeds from the project that resulted in the painted wolves benefit scholarship aid for the UWG annual fund campaign. A portion of the proceeds is dedicated to providing scholarships for art majors.
Anyone with any information on the identity or whereabouts of the wolf thief is encouraged to call the Crimestoppers tip-line at 770-838-stop (7867).
