The would-be-victim of an attempted robbery in Carrollton this week decided he wasn’t going to let it happen. Police say after being approached on South Street by the would-be thief, the man turned around and punched the suspect; knocking him to the ground.
 
But then, showed some compassion.
 
The punch apparently left the attempting-robber on the ground and shaking.
 
According to the report, the puncher grabbed the man on the ground and asked him what was wrong. The man did not respond. The report suggests he thought he had killed him.
 
The man did not have a cell phone so returned to his home where he called authorities. When officers arrived at the location of the incident, the suspect could not be located.
